Shannon Dartez was honored at the Women Who Mean Business Awards. She embodies everything about a woman who means business. From her work here at The Glenn Armentor Law Corporation to her community efforts and the way she helps empower other women in the workforce, it’s obvious to anyone who has met her that she deserves to be honored with this award. Shannon Dartez was presented the Citation of Merit by the Acadiana Board Liaison, Dave Ernest II, during the Louisiana Bar Foundation’s Annual Fellows Breakfast. Shannon has served as Chair of the foundation’s Acadiana Community Partnership Panel for several years. The Louisiana Bar Foundation is the state’s largest funder of legal aid and supports organizations that provide free legal representation on civil matters to indigent individuals. Attorney Shannon Dartez received the President’s award from president Pat Talley for the exemplary work done leading the Task Force to study the House of Delegates, the policy making body of the LSBA governance structure. In addition, Shannon was sworn in as a member of the LSBA Board of Governors, seated as Chair of the House Liaison Committee. Attorney Shannon Dartez had the honor of speaking about the late Mark L. Riley at the Louisiana Workers’ Advocates Annual Meeting. During the event, Shannon highlighted Mark’s advocacy and announced that the executive committee named an award in his honor: The Mark L. Riley Leadership “Dragon Slayer” Award that will be given to advocates of the plight of the injured workers. Much to her surprise, Shannon also received this award with four colleagues who fought against harmful Workers’ Compensation legislation last year and successfully blocked all proposed bills!
