About Starkey

North Carolina real estate attorney Starkey Sharp is a founding member of the firm, and has been in practice since 1977. Starkey is the middle son of a career United States Army officer. Both of his parents are from eastern North Carolina. As the child of an active serving officer, Starkey lived and grew up in various places around the country before attending Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas for his undergraduate degree and law school at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Starkey has a deep connection to the Outer Banks and the people who live and vacation here. Known for his forthright manner, his candor, and a no-nonsense approach to the practice of law, Starkey has earned the respect of other lawyers in the Outer Banks, and throughout North Carolina.
