Stephen G. Murphy, Jr. graduated from Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economics in 1975. He graduated with High Honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1987. He served on the Law Review as Articles Editor. He served as law clerk to Justice Arthur H. Healey of the Connecticut Supreme Court. His practice began in 1988 and is focused on the defense of claims involving products liability, automobile negligence, contractual law, premises liability, medical malpractice, municipal liability, toxic torts, construction claims, employment claims and commercial and personal insurance coverage disputes. He has tried multiple jury and court cases to verdict as well as appearing before the Connecticut Supreme Court, Connecticut Appellate Court, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Bar Association, Member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association, Executive Board Member and past President of the New Haven County Bar Association and the American Inns of Court.
