About Steven

Steve grew up in the south where he played basketball for the University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee. He moved west in 1970 and went on to graduate from UCLA in 1974 with a B.A. in Economics. Steve received his law degree at Southwestern University School of Law in 1979 and began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in Bakersfield, California. In 1983, Steve moved back to Los Angeles and joined the firm of Fonda & Garrard, later Fonda, Garrard, Hilberman & Davis, where he became a partner in 1985. He co-founded Garrard & Davis, LLP, in 1997, with his partner and friend, Donald Garrard. After an amicable dissolution of the partnership in 2014, Steve co-founded the Steven D. Davis Law Group, APC, with his wife, Tracy. Steve is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell and a respected Diplomate level member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is admitted to practice law in the State of California, all U.S District Courts, and the United States Supreme Court. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family, golf, skiing, deep sea fishing, and volunteering in the community. Tracy and Steve have been longtime volunteers and advocates for the Gary Troy Foundation, dedicated to uplifting and educating young people.
