About Waldo
Waldo De Castroverde (1941-2014) was the founder of De Castroverde Accident & Injury Lawyers. Born in Cuba, he fought against the Castro regime and was a paratrooper in the Bay of Pigs invasion, where he was captured and imprisoned for 20 months before being released in 1962. After moving to the U.S., he attended L.A. City College and graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s College in 1970. He later moved to Reno, NV, in 1977, where he studied law at night while working in casinos. Waldo became one of Nevada’s first Spanish-speaking attorneys, focusing on criminal defense and immigration. He joined his sons, Alex and Orlando, as 'of counsel' when they founded De Castroverde Accident & Injury Lawyers in 2005. He was fluent in Spanish, represented Spanish-speaking clients, and authored two Spanish-language books. He was an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Association of Bay of Pigs Veterans.
