Wawi Tijerina

About Wawi

Wawi Tijerina is a native Laredoan with over 35 years of legal experience. She graduated from Martin High School in 1976 and pursued higher education, earning an Associate of Arts degree from Laredo Junior College, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1985. She has practiced law for 35 years, handling diverse civil and criminal litigation, including wrongful death, slip and falls, and car accident cases. Wawi also served as a professor for the Regional Police Academy (1989-1998) and as a Criminal Justice Professor at Laredo Community College (1988-2008). From 1998 to 2002, she was elected as Judge for the Municipal Court of the City of Laredo, Texas, and has also served as a County Commissioner for Webb County, Texas. She is dedicated to helping injury victims obtain civil justice and is known for her empathy and commitment to clients.
