Philadelphia jury ordered Johnson & Johnson unit Janssen Pharmaceuticals to pay $70 million to the family of a young Tennessee boy Andrew Yount who developed female breasts (gynecomastia) after using Risperdal. Janssen failed to warn about risks and misrepresented scientific evidence.

Yount began taking Risperdal in 2003 at age 5, before FDA approval for children. Janssen previously paid $2.2 billion in 2013 for promoting Risperdal for unapproved uses. Over 12,000 claims against Janssen and Johnson & Johnson regarding Risperdal.
