Case Details
Plaintiffs were parents of a nine-year-old boy who was killed when he was struck by a pickup truck just after he had gotten off a school bus. The pickup truck driver was convicted of reckless homicide as a result of the wreck. A suit was filed against the pickup truck driver and the bus driver who allowed the boy to get off the bus and cross the road without first making sure it was safe.

The case was subsequently settled after judgment for the amount of the available insurance coverage, which was $1,125,000.
