The City of Rome filed the lawsuit in 2019 seeking reimbursement of millions of dollars to clean up toxic chemicals that were manufactured and released by several entities as part of their business operations. The discharges took place upstream from Rome’s water intake on the Oostanaula River. The case was settled in late May.
