A 33-year-old female sustained a partial left foot amputation when she was struck by a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) bus when she was lawfully crossing the street in a crosswalk. Along with the foot injury, she required multiple surgeries that resulted in heart and lung damage due to surgical complications - as well as the development of PTSD as a result of the accident.

Additional Notes

The defendant in the case (SEPTA) admitted fault and the parties agreed to a stipulated verdict of $7,000,000 - which included $6 million for non-economic loss and $1,000,000 divided equally for past and future economic losses.
