Case Details

Our client was a 48-year-old woman who entered an ice cream store in Bethesda, Maryland. The floor was wet, but there were no signs or warnings. She slipped and fell on the wet area, falling forward and striking her head and injuring her low back. The force of the impact was so strong that several of her front teeth were fractured, but her main injury was to her lower back, where she previously had had a surgery. The store originally contested liability, and contested only the extent of her injury and claimed it was the result of her original back injury. After a new surgery, she made a full recovery.

Additional Notes

The store originally contested liability and the extent of her injury. The original offer was $300,000. The case was placed into litigation by our firm, and the award was over $750,000.
