Prashant Kumar, a 26-year-old Maryland resident, was a passenger in a Toyota car when it was struck head-on. His reclined seat caused him to slide under the seat belt, resulting in crushed legs and amputation. A jury found Toyota failed to adequately warn about the danger of riding with a reclined seat.
