An attorney suffered brain damage after being misdiagnosed at a hospital outside of Chicago. He presented with headache, stiff neck, vomiting, and disorientation, but was sent home. Two days later, he collapsed from a subarachnoid hemorrhage, leading to permanent brain damage and requiring 24-hour care.

Settlement reached after trial had started. Lawsuit alleged emergency room physicians were negligent for failing to identify and treat bleeding, and failed to order a CT scan and consult a neurologist.
