Greenwich Hospital Malpractice Case Resulting in Stillborn Child
Additional Notes
A Stamford Superior Court jury has ruled that Greenwich Hospital must pay $17 million in damages to our client. She experienced the tragic loss of her child in a stillbirth nine years ago. The jury found the hospital and its Northeast Medical Group were negligent in their care during her pregnancy, which ultimately led to the death of her baby. The lawsuit outlined that our client first sought treatment at Greenwich Hospital’s clinic in early 2015 after becoming pregnant. Throughout her pregnancy, she consistently showed symptoms of a serious condition called cholestasis of pregnancy, which can be life-threatening for the fetus if not managed properly. Despite visiting the hospital multiple times and complaining of full-body itching, facial numbness, and headaches, our client’s medical team failed to diagnose her condition appropriately. On June 22, 2015, our client’s worst fears were confirmed when doctors could no longer detect a fetal heart rate. The next day, she delivered an 8-pound stillborn infant.
