Philip Morris, parent company of Marlboro, was ordered by a federal judge to pay $20 million to Judith Berger’s Estate. Mrs. Berger was a former smoker who passed away from smoking-related illness. The original award was over $27 million but was lowered to $20 million by the 11th circuit court.
