A Missouri woman was injured after a falling overhead display caused a herniated disc and injuries to her arm, leg and hand. Her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis was made after the accident and prior to the beginning of the trial. She recovered a jury award of $337,500. The appellate court affirmed the award in 1998.
