Case Details
Appellate court affirmed the suppression of evidence in a cannabis trafficking arrest due to unlawful extension of traffic stop in People v. Lee, 2018 IL App (3d) 170209.
Additional Notes
The trial court properly suppressed evidence discovered while the police unlawfully extended a traffic stop beyond its scope. The Appellate Court noted that officers' commands and orders would cause a reasonable person to believe he was not free to leave.
