Case Details
The Ritchie Law Firm recovered $2.725 million dollars in a Harrisonburg, Virginia, truck accident case. In this case, the injured person, who we will call “Jane,” was from West Virginia and had traveled to Harrisonburg to attend appointments. She was stopped at a stop light in Harrisonburg when her car was rear-ended by the driver of another vehicle, who we will call “Bob.” After the rear-end collision, “Jane” got out of her vehicle and stood on the sidewalk waiting for police. As she was standing on the sidewalk, a large, city-owned truck approached and struck the rear of “Bob’s” vehicle, causing it to hit the curb, jump the sidewalk, and hit Jane who was standing nearby. Jane was seriously injured. She lost consciousness after being hit. She was taken by ambulance to Rockingham Memorial Hospital until she was stabilized and as then transported by helicopter to the University of Virginia Medical Center. At UVA, “Jane” was told she had two fractured ankles, three fractured ribs, and a permanent brain injury with a subdural hematoma.
