Jury verdict against BMW for breach of implied and express warranty regarding a defective 2014 BMW 428i, which had problems including vehicle shaking, service lights, and fuel gauge issues. BMW had initially declined to repurchase the car.

Ruiz was awarded twice the amount in damages for civil penalties due to willful conduct by BMW. Motion for retrial denied in May 2018.
