Additional Notes
This was the largest verdict for a dog attack in the country and the 16th-highest verdict ever in California, and the highest general damages verdict in San Luis Obispo County history. The trial court awarded Ms. Long $12.5 million in damages and $7 million to Mr. Fear’s survivors. The California Court of Appeals reversed the award, but the firm is appealing to the California Supreme Court.
