Plaintiff was rear-ended by a commercial van operated by a distracted employee, hitting her head on the steering wheel. She suffered sprains of her wrist, shoulder, and cervical spine, prolapsed cervical and lumbar discs, and eventually underwent a cervical discectomy. MRI showed bifrontal temporal volume loss and a partially empty sella.
