Hawai’i Supreme Court cleared the way for the settlement by rejecting insurance companies' attempt to block it. Hawaiian Electric to pay $1.99 billion, state and Kamehameha Schools $872.5 million each, Spectrum Oceanic LLC and Hawaiian Telcom $300 million. Firm reduced contingent fee rate to 20% for victims.
