A 78-year-old man from Nova Scotia suffered a severe spinal cord injury after a collision on a recreational trail. While trying to avoid a bike that suddenly entered from a gravel cross-section, he swerved, struck the buggy, and was thrown from his path. He was immediately paralyzed from the chest down with no feeling or control in his hands.
