Truck driver Derry Brown of Pahokee, FL, was left a quadriplegic after swerving to avoid crashing with a car that had run a stop sign on State Rd. 80 on May 31, 2007. Filed a Florida car accident claim against his insurance company, National Casualty Company, which denied him coverage. After filing suit against the insurance company for uninsured motorist benefits, he was finally awarded compensation. Amount was decided in Broward Circuit Court.
