Case Details
Jury Verdict for the wrongful death of a fifty-two year old Indian female caused by MRSA pneumonia. Emergency medicine physicians and a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician negligently failed to timely diagnose and treat the pneumonia, leading to the client's death. The jury returned a verdict for the surviving husband including funeral expenses, lost earnings, loss of financial value of services, and loss of love, care, and affection.
Additional Notes
The case was tried to a jury over eight days. A medical review panel initially found that health care providers complied with reasonable standards, but the jury substituted its own judgment. The Defendants offered no money to settle the case before trial.
