Attorney James J. Schmidt successfully argued that the circuit court erred in dismissing the claim and denying leave to file an amended petition. The Illinois Appellate Court reversed on all counts, remanding the matter with instructions to allow an amended petition. Case decision: In re Estate of Baker, 2023 IL App 4th 221033-U.
