Case Details
A federal jury in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, found that Johnson & Johnson’s Talc powder caused 56-year-old Deane Berg to develop ovarian cancer. The jury found that J&J failed to adequately warn of the risk.
Additional Notes
Ms. Berg testified she used J&J products for 30 years. Evidence from three doctors identified talc in cancer tissue. Expert Daniel Cramer of Harvard concluded talc implicated in over 10,000 cases of ovarian cancer per year. J&J knew of risk but refused to place warning.
