Melvin Pace, a roustabout, was injured when a Sikorsky 76 helicopter transporting him crashed into the Gulf of Mexico due to Houston Helicopters' failure to adequately maintain it. He suffered lumbar injuries requiring surgery and post-traumatic stress disorder.
