Former NFL defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd filed a medical malpractice lawsuit for career-ending permanent nerve damage in his knee due to a microfracture surgery performed without his consent.

Initially requested $180 million. Awarded $27 million, the maximum covered by malpractice insurance, but only received $17 million. Current lawsuit targets insurers for the remaining $10 million. Lawsuit filed in November 2018.
