Wrongful Death Medical Malpractice

The jury found in favor of the Plaintiff and determined the surgeon negligently discharged the patient from the hospital despite his worsening condition. The jury awarded $25,312,039.59 in damages, which will go to the widow and three children of the decedent.

Matthew Dudley and Marisa Schostok represented a 14-year old girl who suffered from a lack of oxygen while in the emergency department of a hospital, resulting in permanent and irreversible brain damage. The hospital’s nurses removed her supplemental oxygen, pulse oximetry monitor and failed to protect her airway. Due to the lack of supplemental oxygen, monitoring device and airway protection, the girl was left alone, without oxygen, for over twenty minutes. As a result, she suffered cardiac arrest and permanent brain damage. Due to her catastrophic injuries, the girl now requires 24-hour nursing care for the rest of her life.

Highway Crash Personal Injury
Matthew Dudley represented a man from Morton Grove who was injured in a traffic accident in western Nebraska. The man was struck from behind by an 18 wheel tractor trailer. As a result of the accident, the man sustained reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) of his right arm as well as compression fractures to four vertebras. The man’s right arm, his dominant arm, was rendered useless.

The patient will require a high level of medical care for the remainder of his life and is now unable to work or care for himself or perform any activities of daily living.
