Intentional Tort
On a pro bono basis, Jensen Phelan Law Firm represented the Estate of a murder victim who sadly left two children behind. Her husband is currently facing criminal charges, alleging that he buried his wife alive. The firm filed a lawsuit on behalf of the mother’s Estate and obtained a $5 million judgment, inclusive of $2.5 million for punitive damages. All of the family’s assets were transferred to the surviving children.

Jury verdict against Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) for negligence in credentialing a medical doctor, Dr. Whitney James, who performed a botched lumbar spine surgery on Michael Thompson in 2019. Mr. Thompson suffered cerebro-spinal fluid leaks, excruciating headaches, neurological symptoms, and permanent loss of bladder function and mobility issues.
