Car Accident
Woman injured in a rear-end motor vehicle accident. Jury initially awarded zero damages, which was overturned by the Tennessee Court of Appeals, stating the award was unreasonable given the medical evidence of cervical neck strain, whiplash, mild traumatic brain injury, and aggravated lower back condition.
Wrongful Death
A woman, after consuming multiple free drinks at a bar, crashed her truck into an apartment building, killing a 71-year-old resident. The court found the bar not liable under Tennessee's 'Dram Shop' law as they had no knowledge of the second-hand furnishing of drinks to the intoxicated driver.
Fatal Accident
A taxi driver caused a fatal accident in Iowa in 2017, killing one passenger and seriously injuring another, due to driving while intoxicated. The driver was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for vehicular homicide and OWI.
Motorcycle Accident
A 24-year-old woman making a left-hand turn blocked the path of a 25-year-old motorcyclist in Knoxville, leading to a fatal collision. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and died at the scene.
