Construction Zone Accident

Following a summary jury trial in federal court, the jury returned a verdict of $15,000,000 in total damages and 40% comparative fault for a seriously injured man we represented who was injured while riding through a roadwork construction zone and blamed for his own injuries. The verdict was reduced to $9,000,000 because of Ohio’s comparative fault laws and the case settled confidentially the morning following the trial.

Truck Accident

In August 2021, a 30-year-old truck driver had pulled over to the side of Interstate 275 near Cincinnati after two tires on his trailer were punctured. While he was outside his truck, a drunk driver, who had no license and no insurance, lost control of her car and hit the truck driver, killing him instantly. A default judgment was granted by the court, and a trial was held on damages. After hearing testimony about the young man who had died and the depths of sorrow and grief that his shocking death has caused the family, the court returned a judgment of $12,627,307.00.
