J. Javier Gutierrez

J. Javier Gutierrez is a trial lawyer and President of the Gutierrez Law Firm. Mr. Gutierrez has extensive experience representing individuals and families in personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits involving motor vehicle and workplace accidents. In recognition of his accomplishments, Mr. Gutierrez has been named to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 and by The National Trial Lawyers every year since 2013. He was also named a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star for six years in a row, from 2012 to 2017. He has also been named to Texas Super Lawyers for four years in a row, from 2017 to 2020. Super Lawyers is a Thomson Reuters company. Mr. Gutierrez is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Mr. Gutierrez graduated magna cum laude from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio with his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He then attended New York University School of Law where he was active in the Latino Law Students Association and the Courtroom Advocates Program as a domestic violence victim advocate. After receiving his JD in 2004, he returned to Texas where he received his license the same year, and worked as a federal law clerk for the Honorable United States District Judge Jerry L. Buchmeyer in the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division. Prior to joining the Gutierrez Law Firm in 2007, Mr. Gutierrez worked as a business litigation attorney in San Antonio’s largest law firm. Since joining the Gutierrez Law Firm, he has continued to successfully represent business clients as well as personal injury claimants. His participation in the legal community includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, serving as President of the Coastal Bend Bar Association, and serving as a Panel Chair for the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee. Mr. Gutierrez is licensed to practice law in Texas state courts; the Federal Courts of the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas; and the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Baldemar F. Gutierrez

Baldemar F. Gutierrez is the founder of the Gutierrez Law Firm. Mr. Gutierrez has over 45 years of legal experience representing victims of vehicle and workplace injuries. He is a member of two elite organizations, the American Board of Trial Advocates and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. Mr. Gutierrez is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and was named a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters in 2011. He was named the Hispanic Alumni of the Year by the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in recognition of his contributions to the legal field and the Hispanic community, and received the Community Leader Award from the American GI Forum. Baldemar is licensed to practice law in Texas state courts and the Federal Courts of the Southern District of Texas. In addition to representing injury and wrongful death clients at the Gutierrez Law Firm, Mr. Gutierrez serves as the Duval County Attorney.

Blake C. Erskine Jr.

Blake C. Erskine Jr. is an owner and partner at Erskine & Blackburn, P.L.L.C. He is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has extensive jury trial experience. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and Oklahoma City University School of Law.

Ana Gutierrez Lehrman

Ana Gutierrez Lehrman is a trial lawyer with the Gutierrez Law Firm. She is a former prosecutor and she brings extensive trial experience to the firm. Ms. Lehrman represents individuals and families who have been injured or killed in automobile or workplace accidents. Ms. Lehrman has been named to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 under 40 and Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2018. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 2003, and earned her Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 2009. After graduation, Ms. Lehrman worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Jim Wells and Brooks Counties. As an Assistant District Attorney, she gained trial expertise in handling serious felony cases. In 2011, she joined the Gutierrez Law Firm and has served as lead counsel on a variety of personal injury and wrongful death matters, including catastrophic oilfield accident cases. She is currently licensed to appear before all Texas state courts.

Sergio J. Selvera

Sergio J. Selvera is the newest member of the Gutierrez Law Firm team. Sergio is a native of Houston, Texas. He is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and Texas Southern University Law School. He also attended a Graduate International Sports Law program at St. John’s University School of Law in New York. Sergio represents individuals and families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, including motor vehicle and workplace accident cases. In addition to personal injury law, Sergio has experience in the criminal and entertainment law. He has extensive experience dealing with entertainment transactions, record deals, option agreements, corporate sponsorships, venues, and live events. Sergio has represented clients at film, music and technology festivals and conferences. The son of a schoolteacher and police officer, Sergio is also very passionate about his community. He has volunteered countless hours to various mentor, college outreach, and educational programs. Sergio has served on the Board of Directors for the City of Houston’s East Downtown Redevelopment Authority. He was a coordinator for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo “Go Tejano” Committee. He has been a legal panelist for the Houston Hispanic Forum. Sergio is a founding member of the Google Next Gen Policy Leader tech policy fellowship. As of January 2022, Sergio is a Board Member of the Houston Arts Alliance.
