Matt W. Sherwood
Matt Sherwood is a trial lawyer and Shareholder, Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has tried over 30 cases and handled nearly 20 appeals, focusing on oil and gas, construction, commercial, and civil litigation. He was the youngest attorney in Texas to hold both Board Certifications in 2017. Matt is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer and Rising Star.

Tim Hoffman
A Texas panhandle native, Tim Hoffman has spent his entire legal career fighting for the rights of people and families injured by negligence, medical malpractice, dangerous products and unsafe workplaces. Mr. Hoffman graduated from Northwest Oklahoma State University with a degree in history and then attended the University of Oklahoma School of Law where he served on the Law Review. Mr. Hoffman returned to the panhandle after he graduated to join the firm of Smith & Gerald. In 1979, Mr. Hoffman left Smith & Gerald to start his own firm specializing in personal injury, wrongful death and workers compensation. Mr. Hoffman has proved himself a formidable trial lawyer, obtaining millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for those injured or killed by negligence. Tim Hoffman was included in the Texas Super Lawyer list in 2005, which includes only the 5% of Texas lawyers. Mr. Hoffman was included after a thorough selection process that included: (1) a general survey of all lawyers across Texas asking them to name the top lawyers they have observed; (2) a blue ribbon review panel; and (3) an independent attorney-led research group that graded candidates on ten criteria. Mr. Hoffman has attained an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell which means he has been rated by his peers as having very high ethical standards and very high to preeminent legal ability. This is the highest rating an attorney can achieve under this national peer-reviewed system.

J.E. Sauseda
Mr. Sauseda has been a true champion for the legal rights of injured parties throughout his legal career spanning over 30 plus years. Growing up in Springlake-Earth, Texas, J.E. developed an ethic for hard work. With a law degree from The University of Texas at Austin, he began his legal career in 1982 as a briefing attorney for Chief Justice Reynolds of the Seventh District Court of Appeals. Soon after, J.E. joined the firm of Hoffman and Sheffield, one of the leading personal injury firms in the Panhandle. J.E. has achieved numerous accomplishments throughout his career. At the firm, Mr. Sauseda holds the record for highest gross recovery for a single calendar year at 14 Million dollars. His representation of various clients extends from those who have suffered horrific injuries as result of car or semi-truck collisions to those harmed by the negligence of their health care providers. In addition to his legal achievements, J.E. and his wife, Janie Rivas, have been recognized with numerous civic awards as community leaders in Amarillo and the surrounding communities. In 2001 he was presented with the Lifetime Achievement award by the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for his service within the City of Amarillo. Furthermore, J.E. is a tireless advocate for fair representation on the boards of local school districts, colleges, and city government. In 2005, J.E. was awarded the Dr. R.W. Jones Freedom Fund Achievement Award by the local chapter of the NAACP for his outstanding service to the community and commitment to the civil rights for all persons. J.E. currently serves on the Foundation Board for the Wesley Community Center, a center dedicated to the education, spiritual guidance, and recreation of youth and adults of all faiths within the Amarillo community. Mr. Sauseda and his wife are most proud of their one and only son, Jameson E. Sauseda, who is also an attorney at Hoffman, Sheffield, Sauseda, and Hoffman, PLLC.
