Mr. Schlacter graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded multiple prestigious awards throughout his time in law school. Mr. Schlacter graduated within the top 10 students out of a graduation class of approximately 300 students. Brett Schlacter has devoted his law practice to fairly and ethically achieving justice for his clients. He has personally handled many high-profile cases that received national media attention. In 2019, Brett helped obtain a jury verdict for a young woman who had multiple back surgeries as a result of a defective ceiling that collapsed on her head in her apartment complex. After a four-day trial in Miami-Dade the jury awarded the women $2,076,758 in damages. Brett has helped to obtain multiple notable verdicts and settlements for personal injury and property damage cases including but not limited to: $1.625 Million for a young man struck by a company van on his way home from work; $825,000 for a motorcyclist who rear ended a vehicle that stopped short; $800,000 for three people injured in an accident when the insurance company only offered $150,000 for permanent injuries they sustained in the crash and $790,000 for a man struck by a teenager while he was crossing the road. Mr. Schlacter appears regularly on a variety of local and national news stations. Mr. Schlacter is an active entrepreneur and owns various real estate and business assets across the United States. Erika assists the firm in commercial litigation, real estate litigation and insurance litigation. Erika’s diverse expertise encompasses both litigation and corporate matters. She is extremely accomplished in the preparation and negotiation of complex commercial projects as she handles a myriad of complex litigation cases for the firm. Erika was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Florida State University and graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. During law school Erika worked at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office as a Certified Legal Intern. At the SAO, Erika gained valuable trial experience and tried cases to verdict before graduating law school. Erika represents clients in litigation and real estate matters. Her expertise includes commercial litigation, general litigation, legal representation relating to the negotiation and termination of business agreements, joint ventures, partnerships and shareholder agreements, shareholder disputes, buy sell agreements, and residential and commercial real estate closings. Erika also helps the firm with complex and large scale losses involving insurance. Erika represents individuals and corporations located in the United States and Latin America both in litigated matters and corporate matters. She is fluent in English, Spanish and conversational in Hebrew. Erika is married to Brett Schlacter and they together have two beautiful children.
