Tim J. O’Brien

Tim J. O’Brien, born, raised, and educated in Houghton, Michigan, is Of Counsel at Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop, P.C. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Olivet College in 1976 and a law degree from Creighton University in 1979. He was admitted to the Nebraska and Omaha Bar Associations in 1979 and is admitted to the State and Federal Courts in Nebraska, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 8th Circuit. He focuses on plaintiff Personal Injury, Interstate Trucking Collisions, Automobile Collisions, and Product Liability. He is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Nebraska State Bar Association, Omaha Bar Association, the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America, and a Fellow of the Nebraska Bar Foundation. He is also the father of Timothy R. O'Brien and his wife works at the firm.

Tim O’Brien

He graduated from Creighton Prep in 2005, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Creighton University in 2009, and a Jurisprudence Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 2012. He received the CALI award for excellence in Insurance law. He is a member of the Omaha and Nebraska Bar Associations, Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys, and The American Association for Justice (AAJ), including the AAJ Trucking Litigation Group. Tim is actively involved in the community, volunteering at the 15th Club for the Pinnacle Bank Championship, and local food banks. He is known for his empathy and dedication to clients.

Steve Lathrop

Steve Lathrop, born and raised in Omaha, is an Attorney at Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop. Following his father's footsteps, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Creighton University in 1979 and a law degree from Creighton University in 1981. He was admitted to practice law in Nebraska State and Federal Courts in 1981. He focuses on Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Product Liability, and Workers’ Compensation cases. Steve served as a board member and President (2000) of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys. He was elected to the Nebraska Legislature in 2006, 2010, and 2018, serving 12 years, and was Chair of the Judiciary Committee and Business and Labor Committees. He is a recipient of the AV Preeminent award from Lawyers.com and The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 - Civil Plaintiff.

Melany O’Brien

Melany O’Brien, born and raised in South Sioux City, Nebraska, is Of Counsel at Hauptman O’Brien Wolf and Lathrop, P.C. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1989 and a Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 1993, graduating cum laude. Admitted to the Nebraska Bar and Federal Courts in 1993, she focuses on Personal Injury and Product Liability Law, as well as Civil Litigation. She has served on various Nebraska State Bar Association committees, is a Fellow and Board Member of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation, and was Chair of the House of Delegates in 2016. She is also a former Secretary and Executive Council Member of the Omaha Bar Association and a Past President of the Nebraska Women’s Bar Association. Melany is a Board Member for the Women’s Center for Advancement and is a recipient of the David A. Svoboda Trial Award. She is also the author of "Lead Poisoning Prevention in Nebraska" and "Personal Injury & Workers’ Compensation Proceeds in a Divorce".

Michael Khalili

Michael W. Khalili, born in Guymon, Oklahoma, and raised in Del Rio, Texas, is a Bilingual Attorney at Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop. He speaks Spanish fluently. He graduated cum laude from the University of California Los Angeles in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and earned his Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law in 2008. He received the CALI award for Housing Law and Policy, the Washington State Hispanic Bar Association Scholarship (2007), and the Dean’s Diversity Scholarship (2005). He is licensed in Iowa, Nebraska, and the U.S. District Court of Nebraska, and is an active member of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys and the Nebraska State Bar Association. He primarily focuses on plaintiff Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, and Employment Law, and is actively involved in the Hispanic community.

Terry Anderson

Terry Anderson, born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, is Of Counsel at Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968 and Juris Doctorate degree in 1971 from the University of North Dakota, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and Case Editor of the North Dakota Law Review. He also earned a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School in 1972. He was admitted to the State Bar of North Dakota in 1971 and the Nebraska State Bar Association in 1972. He is also admitted to practice before the Eighth Circuit and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal. He handles only Plaintiffs’ Cases, including Automobile Collisions, Animal Bites, Boating Accidents, Brain Injuries, Burn Injuries, Catastrophic Injuries, Civil Litigation, Interstate Trucking Collisions, Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Product Liability, Slip & Fall, Workers’ Compensation, and Wrongful Death. Terry is also a prolific author of books and articles on criminal law and evidence.

Jeremy Elliott

Jeremy Elliott, born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and raised in Sarpy County, is an Attorney at Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop. He attended Bellevue West High School, Creighton University for undergrad, and graduated with honors from Creighton University School of Law in 2012. He is licensed in Nebraska, the U.S. District Court District of Nebraska, the U.S. District Court District of Iowa, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. He is an active member of the Omaha Bar Association and Nebraska State Bar Association, and serves in a leadership role within the Young Lawyers Division of the Omaha Bar Association. Jeremy volunteers with F3 and focuses on plaintiff cases in Automobile Accidents, Dog Bites, Boating Accidents, Premise Liability, and other Personal Injury cases.
