Matthew Metzger

Matthew Metzger represents plaintiffs ranging from individuals and their families injured or killed in catastrophic accidents to companies involved in litigation and transactions. For example, in 2025, Matt obtained a jury verdict of over $22 million, one of the largest jury verdicts ever in Hamilton County. Matt’s extensive experience representing individuals and their families includes catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, business litigation, and class action litigation, where he has recovered over $50 million for his clients in settlements and judgments. His business litigation practice includes representing clients, always plaintiffs and usually on a contingency fee basis, in breach of contract actions, business tort claims, and intellectual property matters. Previously, Matt was an attorney at Keating Muething & Klekamp, a large corporate law firm. He received his JD from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, magna cum laude, and his BBA in Economics from the University of Iowa, with distinction, where he was a varsity scholarship athlete. Steve R. Wolterman

He is local to Cincinnati and attended St. Xavier High School, then earned his B.S. in Finance from Clemson University, and returned to Cincinnati and received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law. Steve resides near Loveland with his wonderful wife and three amazing young daughters as he cautiously awaits the teenage years. Steve is an entrepreneur at heart and never intended to practice law in someone’s else’s firm. After a couple years at a local tax firm, Steve started his own firm in 2008. Located in historic Loveland, a suburb of Cincinnati, Steve’s vision for the firm has always been to provide sophisticated services for clients locally and nationwide but from a friendly and casual neighborhood firm setting. Steve abhors ties and rarely will you see anyone in the building in something fancier than jeans. His experience in starting and building his own firm and ancillary businesses allows for a special connection between Steve and his business clients, beyond his expertise in business, tax and transactional matters. Cassidy Carstens

Cassidy Carstens’ practice is focused on probate estate administration, estate planning, and personal injury litigation. Her main concentration is probate administration for estates of all sizes and complexity. Administering an estate through probate can be a difficult and complicated process, which is especially challenging for families grieving the loss of a family member or loved one. Cassidy always takes extra measures to regularly update her clients, answer their questions, manage expectations, and provide clarity on the process involved in probating an estate. Cassidy truly enjoys getting to know each client, their families, and learning about the loved ones who have passed. She ensures that the estate will be administered pursuant to their last wishes or if none, in accordance with Ohio law, in order to honor the decedent and their family in the best way possible. Cassidy’s experience in probate has influenced her awareness of the importance of proper estate planning. Without proper estate planning and asset protection before death, your estate can fall into probate. Cassidy works to prevent her estate planning clients’ families from dealing with probate courts in the future. Cassidy has been a part of the Wolterman Law Office team since 2015. She started as a secretary and then became a legal assistant before entering law school in 2019. While she was an undergrad majoring in health sciences at the University of Cincinnati, Cassidy started to consider a legal career. Wanting to learn more about law school and the profession, she arranged to interview attorney Steve Wolterman for a first-hand account and recommendation.
