Matthew Graham

R. Matthew “Matt” Graham is a 2000 graduate of Texas A&M University School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan University School of Law) and brings more than two decades of civil litigation experience to the J. Alexander Law Firm team. Over the course of his career, Matt spent more than a decade representing insurance companies in trials throughout the Southwest United States, and also served as Director of Subrogation Litigation for a 10-state region of the nation’s second largest automobile insurance carrier. From years spent watching the way insurance companies work against the interests of families and individuals, he sharpened his ability to recognize their tactics and hold them accountable. He knows that a hands-on approach to the practice of law, along with a willingness to take the fight to the other side, are the keys to success in personal injury litigation. His record of trial successes are a result of his unwavering commitment to preparation and attention to detail. Matt is licensed to practice law in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. He is also admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the District of Colorado, and the District of New Mexico.

Sameer Assanie

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Sameer Assanie is an attorney with a passion for working on behalf of his clients. Sameer hails from a family with deep knowledge of personal injury law and vast experience assisting injured drivers and passengers receive the medical care they need to improve their health and secure the compensation they deserve. Since joining J. Alexander Law, Sameer has overseen and assisted in dozens of cases involving car accidents, 18-wheeler collisions, bicyclists, and pedestrians. He has won judgements for his clients at trial, including results over policy limits, and has successfully argued motions that led to advantageous positions for his clients. Before joining the legal profession, Sameer served as communications director to a senior member of the United States House of Representatives, in Washington, D.C., and has extensive experience working in federal, state, and county government. Sameer also possesses multiple judicial internships on his resume with a long-tenured Dallas County trial judge. His past professional experience in government has made him an asset in understanding the intricacies of the judicial system and his knowledge benefits him in delivering successful verdicts and settlements for his clients. Sameer is the proud son of immigrants and is able to assist clients in Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, and Sindhi. Aside from practicing law, Sameer is a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoys writing and photography.

Zachary S. Elliott

Zachary S. Elliott is a respected litigator with extensive courtroom experience in bench and jury trials. He focuses his practice on cases involving divorce, spousal support, child custody, termination of parental rights and adoption. He also has significant experience in cases involving criminal, probate, estate and personal injury issues. He is a native of Van Zandt County, graduated from Dartmouth College, and earned his Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He also received legal training in international law at the University of Lyonn III School of Law in Lyon, France.

Kelsey Brodock

Prior to joining J. Alexander Law Firm, Kelsey obtained invaluable legal experience litigating cases for a large insurance defense firm in San Antonio. You’ll have a distinct advantage with Kelsey on your team. Her experience defending individuals and companies in insurance lawsuits gives her first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of the defense side’s mindset. She understands the strategies insurance companies use to minimize your pay out, and she’ll use it to your advantage. Kelsey is the bold and accomplished lawyer you want to fight for your case! Since joining the Firm in 2018, Kelsey has focused her practice on the representation of clients injured in Trucking, Auto and Motorcycle Accidents and Premises Liability Accidents. Kelsey takes each client’s case personally and takes great pride in getting compensation for her clients on every claim. Kelsey is a California native. She completed her undergraduate studies at California State University, Northridge, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. She relocated from California to attend Saint Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. Kelsey received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Saint Mary’s and is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

Laura Rivas

Laura Rivas was born in San Antonio, Texas but grew up in the greater Dallas area in Allen, Texas. Laura obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in 2012. After graduation, Laura worked in the biochemistry field for a year, but quickly decided to transition and dedicate her career to law. Laura attended St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas where she graduated in 2016 with her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree with honors. During law school, Laura interned as a law clerk for a corporate/transactional law firm, criminal defense firm, but found her passion for personal injury. Prior to joining J. Alexander Law Firm, Laura gained valuable experience representing plaintiffs at two other Dallas-based personal injury firms. She continues to pursue her passion for litigation and cases involving motor vehicle accidents, 18-wheeler accidents, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and premises liability. Laura advocates for her clients with conviction and skill and works hard to be there for her clients every step of the way until they receive the justice they deserve. In her free time, Laura enjoys traveling, concerts, being outdoors, and hanging out with her friends and family.
