Ben J. Bingham

From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the legal system and the profound impact it can have on people’s lives. This fascination first manifested itself in the sixth grade, during a simple writing exercise that asked, ‘What are you going to be when you grow up?’ While most kids my age were dreaming of becoming astronauts or veterinarians, I penned a future where I pursued law school and established a law practice with my cousin, Joe Benson. This wasn’t just a child’s daydream; it was a vision that I turned into a reality. Forty years later, Benson & Bingham stands as a testament to that early ambition. With five locations throughout Nevada, our firm specializes in personal injury cases, dedicating our expertise to helping thousands of victims. Our commitment to justice and client welfare has not only propelled us to the forefront of Nevada’s legal landscape but also made us the state’s fastest-growing personal injury firm. My journey in law is a story of a childhood dream realized through dedication, hard work, and an unwavering belief in the power of justice. It’s a narrative about turning aspirations into achievements and underscores the impact one can have when they’re driven by passion and guided by integrity. The practice of law presents challenges on a daily bases far from the mundane 9-5. Frankly, my personality is incapable of a day to day desk job without lashing out. The constant argument with insurance adjusters and defense attorneys over liability issues and medical records, fighting for what’s right, suits me well. Having broken numerous bones in my body on several occasions and having plenty of surgeries to correct the same, I can relate to most of the pain and suffering issues clients present. When a client is in pain or doesn’t have their health, it changes their eating habits, sleeping habits, creates depression and makes them sharp tempered. Having personally experienced the challenges associated with pain and suffering and rehabilitation helps me understand the healing process an injured client endures. In my early career as an attorney I primarily practiced in the areas of criminal defense and personal injury. In 2006, I was able to make the transition and dedicate my practice exclusively to helping personal injury victims. Ben Bingham is a respected plaintiffs attorney who has a well-earned reputation. A short list of his recognized achievements include Top 10 Attorney Award and Top 10 In Nevada by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys, National Recognition of America’s Top 100 Attorneys, Top 40 under 40 by National Trial Lawyers and recipient of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. At home, Ben enjoys spending time with his two teenage sons, Parker and Tyler, who are active in sports. Ben also maintains a love for classic motorcycles and cars owning a 1958 Mercedes 190SL, 1927 Harley Davidson and a 1948 Harley Davidson. Many of his weekends include racing his 500 or 690 dirt bike across the desert in Nevada or through the challenges of Baja Mexico. Bens moto, “in order to work hard, you have to play hard”!

Joseph L. Benson II

Joseph L. Benson II, Esq. was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a childhood spent in Incline Village, NV (Lake Tahoe) and Reno, Nevada. His high school years at Earl Wooster High School in Reno saw him excel in football and track & field, achieving AAA All-State Football Champions status and making a mark as “AAA All State” in two skill positions. He continued his education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, earning a B.S. in Hotel Administration from the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. Joseph’s academic achievements placed him on the Dean’s Honor List, and he pursued international studies in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. Law called, and Joseph answered by obtaining his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA, in 2000. His legal education included instruction by the late US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in international Constitutional law during a stint at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. Licensed to practice in Nevada since October 2000, Joseph started his career as an Associate at Benson, Bertoldo, & Baker from 2000 to 2003. In 2004, he co-founded Benson & Bingham, where he serves as the Founding Partner to this day. Joseph’s professional journey has been marked by thousands of successfully handled cases, trials in Justice, District, and Federal Court, and expertise in all aspects of Civil Tort Litigation. A proud member of the Nevada Justice Association (NJA), American Bar Association (ABA), and Clark County Bar Association, Joseph has also been recognized in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and the “2022 Las Vegas Leading Lawyers” in Vegas magazine. His contributions extend beyond the courtroom, with features on NBC and ABC news as a contributor, along with newsworthy reports in the Las Vegas Review Journal. Beyond the legal realm, Joseph indulges in hobbies such as Real Estate Development & Redesign, holding a license as a Nevada DRE Broker/Salesperson. His interests also include traveling, golf, and enjoying snow sports.

Ida M. Ybarra

Ida is originally from the small farming town of Corcoran, California. She attended the University of California, Berkeley where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in social welfare with an emphasis in psychology and a minor in Chicana/o Studies. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. During law school, Ida studied abroad in Nice, France where she was taught international constitutional law by the late Justice Scalia of the Supreme Court of the United States. Ida previously worked at a personal injury firm where she created and managed the workers’ compensation department. She also worked as a workers’ compensation insurance adjuster for several insurance companies. Her prior experience has allowed her to advocate for the rights of her clients. When Ida is not practicing law, she enjoys traveling the world, watching college basketball and football and reading. Ida is admitted to practice law in Nevada and is a member of the Nevada State Bar, Nevada Federal District Court and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Michael J. LeVangie

Michael J. LeVangie is a seasoned litigator, a recipient of multiple awards for excellence in international law and negotiation. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1992 and practices in various federal courts. His specialties include extended care facility defense, professional liability, motor sport and leisure liability, products liability, complex construction defect litigation, and corporate governance.

Amanda Louise Moyer

Amanda Louise Moyer earned her J.D. in 2020 and joined LeVangie Long Loorz as an associate attorney in February 2025. She is licensed to practice in California and Nevada, focusing on defense work including personal injury, professional liability, employment law, and defense of business entities. She previously worked as a litigation paralegal.

Todd Alexander

Todd was raised in the Reno-Sparks area. He is a veteran of the United States Navy, and he earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Nevada, Reno. Todd then continued his education at the University of Oregon School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2007. Following law school, Todd returned to Northern Nevada and completed a clerkship with a District Judge at the Second Judicial District Court in Washoe County. Prior to joining Benson & Bingham, Todd was a partner at a law firm in Reno, where he practiced primarily insurance defense litigation-defending against the types of claims he now pursues for his clients. Todd has tried numerous cases in front of Washoe County juries, in both state and federal courts, and he has argued several cases before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Nevada Court of Appeals. He is licensed and admitted to practice before all courts in the State of Nevada. At Benson & Bingham, Todd’s insurance defense background and experience give him invaluable insight in serving plaintiffs in personal injury claims and litigation. When he is not practicing law, Todd is usually either golfing with his family and friends or exploring the wilderness surrounding the Reno-Sparks area.

Lara Z. Moriarty

Lara Z. Moriarty earned her B.A. in Law and Society in 1995 and attended New England School of Law. She has served as an Assistant District Attorney and Assistant City Attorney, and has extensive litigation experience defending public entities, law enforcement, and in medical malpractice and personal injury defense. She is also highly experienced in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
