Norman J. Weinstein

Norman Weinstein is Of Counsel at Galfand Berger, LLP, specializing in Workers’ Compensation and Social Security law for over 41 years. He received a Citation from City Council, City of Philadelphia in 2019 for his dedication to injured workers and is included on Philly Labor’s Who’s Who in Injury and Injured Workers Advocacy list. He is past Co-Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and past co-chair Workers’ Compensation Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Norman has served as an adviser on the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Office of Health Equity for over 10 years and is involved with various non-profit boards, including The Health Care Improvement Foundation and Sanctuary Village. Marc G. Brecher

Marc G. Brecher, of counsel, has been practicing law since 1977. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Albright College in 1973 and his law degree from Temple University in 1977. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. He has also been specially admitted to practice in the States of New Jersey and Delaware on multiple occasions. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Brecher began his legal career as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Murray L. Goldman, Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County. He subsequently took a position as Director of Legal Services for the Berks County (PA) Bar Association. In 1979, he joined the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General where he remained until 1985. During his tenure with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, he represented many state agencies including the State Police, Bureau of Correction, Department of Environmental Resources and Pennsylvania Game Commission. He left the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General as a Senior Deputy Attorney General. In 1985, Mr. Brecher began working at Wapner Newman. Since that time his practice has been limited to medical malpractice litigation with a special emphasis on obstetrical malpractice cases. His practice also heavily concentrates on failure to diagnose cancer cases, emergency room malpractice, surgery mistakes, and diagnosis errors. He has achieved many multimillion dollar results for his clients in actions filed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware during his career. Mr. Brecher was Managing Partner for the firm from 2009 until 2022 when he became “of counsel” to the firm.

John M. Pumphrey

John Pumphrey has been a civil trial lawyer for 24 years. He specializes in litigating cases involving victims of crime and sexual assault, construction injuries, medical malpractice, nursing home malpractice, product liability, commercial and motor vehicle collisions, and premises liability. He has successfully tried dozens of cases over the last two decades, and many of his cases have resulted in seven-figure verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Mr. Getson joined Wapner Newman, P.C. as an Associate in April 2004 and has always focused his practice in plaintiffs’ Civil Trial Litigation. Since 2003, Mr. Getson has successfully represented injured victims in a variety of accidents, including automobile crashes, transportation and trucking crashes, dog attacks, product malfunctions, slips/trips and falls, medical malpractice, professional malpractice, elevator accidents, negligent security and dram shop claims, construction site accidents, nursing home abuse and neglect, construction site accidents, and other personal injury matters. In January 2014, Mr. Getson became a Partner at Wapner Newman. In addition to advocating for his clients at Wapner Newman, Mr. Getson is a certified Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Getson also can be found lecturing at Continuing Legal Education Seminars and other educational forums.
