Nick Lavery

Nick Lavery is a native of South Carolina and has lived and worked in Clemson for twenty years. He has worked for the 13th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office (Greenville and Pickens Counties) and the 10th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office (Anderson and Oconee Counties). As an Assistant Solicitor, Nick prosecuted a wide range of cases from murders to drug charges to traffic offenses. He graduated from Furman University, Suffolk University School of Law, and Mississippi College School of Law. After leaving the Solicitor’s Office, Nick joined Olson, Smith, Jordan and Cox, P.A. in 2002 and worked primarily in the Clemson Office. He became a partner in 2005, and eventually the firm name was changed to Smith, Jordan and Lavery. In 2019, Nick started his own firm, which is still based in Clemson. Nick continues to represent clients in the areas of Criminal Defense, including DUI, as well as other charges related to alcohol and drugs. Additionally, Nick also handles civil cases concerning Personal Injury, Automobile/Motorcycle Accidents, and Workers’ Compensation throughout the State of South Carolina.

David earned his B.S. in Biology from Western Carolina University in 1987 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1991. As a career prosecutor in both the 10th and 13th Circuits, he has handled a wide range of criminal cases and developed a reputation for fairness, preparation, and integrity in the courtroom. Now serving in an “of counsel” role with the firm, David focuses on criminal law, offering clients the benefit of decades of prosecutorial insight and courtroom experience.
