Greg Baker

Greg Baker is the managing member of Greg Baker, Attorneys at Law, PLLC. He has over thirty years of experience in the law and is a member of the Virginia State Bar. He has served as a state court judge, drug court judge, commissioner of accounts, special prosecutor, defense attorney, and county and town attorney. He has also managed several general practice law firms and been a law school professor at three Virginia law schools. Mr. Baker is a law graduate of the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. He has served the 29th Judicial Circuit of Virginia to the Virginia State Bar Council and is appointed as a Commissioner of Accounts by the Circuit Courts of Dickenson and Wise Counties. He also serves as Town Attorney for the Town of Clinchco and local government law consultant to the Town of Pound. His practice focuses on criminal law, representing children as a guardian ad litem, and personal injury and other accident cases.

Alexandra Dove Goodpaster joined Greg Baker Attorneys at Law PLLC in their Abingdon, Virginia location. She is a 2015 graduate of the Appalachian School of Law and received her Bachelor’s in 2010 from Virginia Tech. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar. During law school, she interned for the Dickenson County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, was the Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the Natural Resources Law Journal, and a member of the Student Bar Association. Prior to joining the firm, she served as law clerk for Judge Henry Vanover and was a Staff Attorney at Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society, representing low-income Virginians. Her experience includes family law, housing, consumer, public benefits, and general civil matters. She has also been a member of local Community Coordinated Response Teams. Her practice areas include criminal defense, traffic matters, divorce and custody cases, car and other accident cases including medical malpractice and worker’s compensation, and drafting legal documents.

Kevin Dotson is a member of the Virginia State Bar and an attorney at Greg Baker Attorneys at Law, PLLC. He serves Southwest Virginia from the Clintwood office. Kevin graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in History and Philosophy in 2018 from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. He then graduated Cum Laude from Stetson University College of Law. He has worked as a court reporter, interned with the Wise County Commonwealth’s Attorneys office and the Wise County Circuit Court Clerk’s office, and clerked for several attorneys. His practice areas include criminal defense, personal injury, family law, property law, other civil litigation, and basic legal needs such as deeds, wills, and estate planning.

Susan J. Wood

Susan J. Wood is an attorney at Greg Baker, Attorneys at Law, PLLC and a member of the Virginia State Bar. She primarily practices family law, including child custody, divorce, and adoption. Susan serves as Town Attorney for the Town of Clintwood. Prior to private practice, she served as a judicial law clerk to Circuit Court Judge Henry A. Vanover. She gained valuable experience researching and analyzing legal issues before the Circuit Court. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Appalachian School of Law, where she served as an Associate Editor and Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the Appalachian Journal of Law. Susan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, from King College (now King University). She is a native of Haysi, Dickenson County, Virginia.
