Donald E. Holmes

Donald E. Holmes is a Senior Partner at Holmes & Young, P.A., who came to Palatka in 1976 after graduating with honors from Florida State University College of Law. He previously served as an Assistant State Attorney and Division Chief in Putnam County, conducting over 140 jury trials. Since entering private practice in 1983, he has practiced in various areas including government/municipal law, business/commercial law, real estate/land use law, marital and family law, general civil litigation, criminal law, probate, and personal injury law. He serves as City Attorney for Palatka and Town of Interlachen and is a retained attorney for many Putnam County businesses. He is highly involved in the community and holds an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®.

George A. Young is the Managing Partner at Holmes & Young, P.A., joining in 2013. He previously served as an Assistant State Attorney in Putnam County from 2008 to 2013. A veteran, he served as an Army Officer from 1994, including deployments in Operation Enduring Freedom. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law, graduating in the top 15% and receiving several academic honors. He also works as an adjunct professor at St. Johns River State College and is a member of the Military Officers Association of America and the Lions Club.

Catherine Harris is an attorney specializing in family law, practicing in Putnam, St Johns, Clay, Duval, and surrounding counties since 2013. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in legal studies. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2013 from Florida Coastal School of Law, where she was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal honor society, received the Book Award for Employment Law, and attained the Dean’s List.
