David B. Sloan

David was born in Martin, Kentucky, on September 20, 1950. In 1976, David began his practice with Stephens, Combs, and Page in Pikeville, Kentucky. In 1978, David returned to Northern Kentucky to join the firm, becoming a Partner in 1982. David concentrates his practice in the areas of trial practice, particularly in the areas of insurance defense litigation, including personal injury, products liability, and property damage defense litigation. David also practices in the areas of insurance coverage issues, criminal law, and workers' compensation. David has served as President of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, as a Member of the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Kentucky Association and as President of the Kentucky Bar Association from 2005 to 2006. He currently serves as an elected member of the Berea College Board of Trustees. In 2007, David was elected to the American Bar Association's House of Delegates. David has been selected to the Kentucky SuperLawyers for 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011. David is a Martindale - Hubble AV rated attorney.

Michael J. O'Hara

Michael J. O'Hara was admitted to practice in 1975 and is currently a Partner with the Firm. Michael has represented both individuals and businesses in a wide range of matters relating to employee and employer rights and responsibilities under State and Federal laws including gender, race, religion, ethnicity, and disability discrimination cases. He also regularly represents survivors of abuse and police misconduct. Michael focuses his practice in the areas of employment discrimination, civil rights, and commercial law. Michael was born in Lexington, Kentucky and grew up in Northern Kentucky. He is married and has two daughters. Michael currently lives in Cincinnati with his wife, Glenda Harrison, who is also an attorney and currently serves as the Executive Director of Kentucky Access to Justice Commission. He has been actively involved with volunteer lawyer programs in both Kentucky and Ohio.

Colby Cowherd

Colby Cowherd is a partner with the firm, joining after having practiced in Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury for nearly a decade. He enjoys obtaining successful results for his injured clients, and he has done so hundreds of times, whether through settlement, mediation, or trial. Colby relishes appearing before juries on behalf of his clients. Colby was born and raised in Northern Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2004, and Salmon P. Chase College of Law summa cum laude in 2012. In law school, Colby participated in both Law Review and Moot Court. He is rated by Super Lawyers, selected in 2022.

Arnold Taylor

Arnold Taylor was born in Corbin, Kentucky, but has been a lifelong resident of Northern Kentucky. He has been a member of the firm since 1965 and is currently the Senior Partner. He concentrates his practice in the areas of litigation and business interests. He is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney. He was designated Senior Counselor by the Kentucky Bar Association for practicing law for fifty years or being 75 years of age. He served briefly as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. He is a trained mediator. He was on the very first Continuing Legal Education Commission; he is Chairman of the Judicial Ethics Committee; he served for three years on the Council on Post-Secondary Education; he has been a member of the Covington Rotary Club since 1978; and he is a member of the Kenton County Historical Society. He also wrote three books: 'Rose a Woman of Color,' 'Suing For Freedom In Kentucky,' and 'A Compilation of All Named Slaves In Kenton County Kentucky'.

Suzanne Cassidy

Suzanne Cassidy is a partner with the firm, who concentrates her practice in the areas of School Law, Insurance Defense, Family Law, Employment Discrimination and Civil Rights. She is a trained mediator in family law. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Northern Kentucky Bar Association. She previously served on the Board of Directors of NKBA, and is a past president of that group. She is a member of KBA's Education Law Section, as well as both the National School Board Attorneys and Kentucky School Board Attorneys Associations, previously serving on the Board of Directors and as president of this latter group. She volunteers in the family law area for the Northern Kentucky Volunteer Lawyers. She also serves on KBA's Ethics Committee, and is an Ethics Hotline member for District Six. Kentucky Governor Steven Beshear appointed Sue to a four-year term on the Kentucky Personnel Board in February, 2008, and then to the Kentucky Crime Victim's Board and Board of Claims in 2012, where she served through 2015. She received the 2006 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award from the Northern Kentucky Volunteer Lawyers.

Aaron M. Beck

Aaron Beck joined the firm in 2014. Prior to joining the firm, he was in private practice and spent time as a public defender. Aaron is a member of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association. Aaron Beck focuses his practice on Bankruptcy, Family, Criminal, Business and Commercial, and Estate Planning. He was named as a 2016 Super Lawyer Rising Star and also recognized in 2015 as a Super Lawyer Rising Star. He previously served as Treasurer of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association Board of Directors.

Gary J. Sergent is a partner at O’Hara, Ruberg, Taylor, Sloan & Sergent. He represents parties in general civil matters including personal injury; professional negligence; worker's compensation and business and property disputes. In criminal matters he represents individuals and organizations in complex drug, white collar and financial crimes. He takes such cases in most area Federal and state courts. His experience as a litigator makes him well suited to resolve cases through negotiation, mediation, plea bargaining or trial. He has also served as a mediator in civil disputes and is frequently sought out as a mentor by other attorneys in the area. He currently serves as a Member of the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Association. Gary has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. He was selected by the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Association to hold a position on the Board of the Kentucky Lawyers Assistance Program. He is very active with the Kentucky Bar Association and has served at least 20 years in some bar-related position. He volunteers as much as he can at Seven Hills Church, where he leads small groups and assists on special projects. He has also been a member of the Christian Legal Society for the last several years.
