Julie Valdez
As an associate attorney at Florida Advocates, Julie is responsible for overseeing and handling discovery for the firm’s insurance cases. Carlos D. Cabrera
Carlos D. Cabrera is a trial and appellate attorney with a broad range of experience in civil matters. He has represented individuals, small businesses and large insurance companies throughout his legal career in many areas, including, but not limited to, personal injury, family law, real estate, employment matters, discrimination claims, civil rights, consumer protection law, condominium law, contract law, legal malpractice claims, commercial disputes, insurance defense, personal injury protection, and appeals. Peter John Mineo
Peter John Mineo is a native of South Florida, and has resided here his entire life. His legal training and familiarity with the court room first began during his childhood when he would frequently spend time at his father’s law office and accompany him to court to observe trials. Even from a young age he knew he wanted to become a lawyer, and as a result participated in the debate team and forensics club during his school years. Peter graduated from Chaminade Madonna College Preparatory in 1998 and went on to attend college at the University of Central Florida from which he graduated in 2002 with his Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in History. In 2002, Peter enrolled in law school at Nova University’s Shepard Broad Law Center where he was named the school’s prestigious Goodwin Scholar, which carried with it an award of a full three year academic scholarship. Following his first semester of law school, Peter married his college sweetheart. Throughout law school Peter worked at the law offices of Mineo & Dellapina as a law clerk, where he endured rigorous training under his father, Peter Mineo, Jr., attending court regularly and drafting pleadings and motions to get the sort of actual on the job training law school often fails to provide. Peter earned his Juris Doctorate was admitted to the Florida Bar as a practicing attorney in 2005. Peter Mineo Jr.
In 1977, Mr. Mineo graduated from Biscayne College (now St. Thomas University) with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. His background in the field of accounting gives him an enormous advantage in addressing complex financial matters presented in divorce litigation. In 1981, Mr. Mineo graduated from Nova University Law School. His entire third year of law school was spent as a clinical intern in the Broward County Public Defenders Office. This gave him the unique experience of having tried more than twenty cases before juries to verdict, before becoming a member of the bar. In October of 1981, Mr. Mineo was sworn in as a member of the Florida Bar and worked as an assistant Public Defender. He was one of three persons hired from more than 40 applicants. In 1982, he opened his own practice as a trial lawyer. He ultimately formed the firm, Mineo Booth & George, P.A., where he remained Senior Partner for many years. Early in his career, Mr. Mineo handled a varied case load including Plaintiff Personal Injury, Family Law and Medical Negligence litigation and General Civil litigation. He has tried over two hundred cases to verdict over his career. Many of these cases were complex medical negligence matters which are considered the most difficult and most challenging of all cases.
