Charles Boyk

Chuck Boyk has been licensed to practice law in Ohio since 1983. His major areas of practice involve plaintiff personal injury, including car accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, slip and falls (premises liability), and construction accidents. Chuck’s other areas of practice include workers compensation, criminal defense and general civil litigation. He is licensed in all Ohio courts and the Eastern District of Michigan in Federal Court. During the past 40 years, Chuck has acted as counsel or co-counsel in numerous cases in other states, including California, Florida, Indiana, South Carolina, Michigan and New York. He is a lifelong resident of Ohio, born in Toledo, and graduated from Start High School in 1976. He attended Bowling Green State University on a debate scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a specialization in Political Science. He graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law with a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1983. Chuck is a member of the Toledo Bar Association, Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Thomas Thompson

Tom Thompson enjoys representing clients in litigation matters, including personal injury, criminal law, domestic relations and business disputes. Tom was a prosecutor for more than 15 years so he knows his way around a courtroom. He is also a trained mediator and can assist clients in appropriate cases to find common ground to resolve disputes outside of court. In addition, Tom represents several governmental entities such as the Villages of Pioneer, Edon and Fayette.

Jennifer N. Brown

Jennifer N. Brown is a native of Northwest Ohio. She graduated Cum Laude from Bowling Green State University and The University of Toledo, College of Law. She began her career at the firm in March of 1999 as a law clerk and became a partner in July of 2007. Her areas of practice include insurance law, personal injury, social security & employer disability, adoption, and general civil litigation. She is active in the community, as a member and catechist at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a Licensed Foster/Adoptive Parent.

Rodney M. Arthur

Rodney M. Arthur was the founder of Arthur Law Firm, practicing for 30 years before stepping down in 2002 and passing away in 2013. He graduated with a BS and JD from Ohio Northern University and an MBA from the University of Toledo. He was revered for his tireless work ethic and dedication to justice, particularly for those treated unfairly by insurance companies and big business. He was certified as a specialist in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, focusing on wrongful death, product safety, medical negligence, personal injury, and domestic law.

Daniel R. Michel

Daniel R. Michel is a past President of the Ohio Association for Justice (OAJ), the state trial lawyers organization which advocates for the rights of consumers and injured persons. Dan also served for several years on the OAJ Board of Trustees as well as multiple officer positions; and the Board of Editors for OAJ’s bi-annual journal publication, OHIO TRIAL. He focuses his practice on motor vehicle crash cases, probate litigation, and business disputes. He is active in the NW Ohio community, having served as a YMCA Board Member and President, Board Member for the Defiance Area General Health District, Scout leader, multiple positions within the Boy Scouts of America Black Swamp Area Council, the Defiance Area Foundation, the Justin F. Coressel Charitable Trust, and the Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce.

Michael Bruno

Mike Bruno was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and grew up in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Sylvania High School in 1975 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Ohio University in 1979. He graduated from The University of Toledo Law School in 1983. From 1983 to 1989, Mike worked as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Lucas County, prosecuting hundreds of cases. Since 1989, he has primarily handled personal injury and insurance matters, trying over 100 jury trials throughout northwest Ohio, including a $1.25 million recovery. Mike has received a 10.0 “Superb” rating from the Avvo lawyer ranking system. He is a past president of the Italian American Sports Club and a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers.

Clayton J. Crates

Clayton J. Crates was born in Findlay, Ohio, and grew up in Toledo, Ohio and Pueblo West, Colorado. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University in 2005 and his Juris Doctor from The University of Toledo College of Law in 2008. Clay joined the Arthur Law Firm in 2009 as an associate, and became a partner in 2016. He practices principally in the areas of criminal defense and personal injury. He is active in the community, serving on the Defiance County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the CCNO Citizens Advisory Committee, and for ABLE/LAWO.
