Jeff 'JJ' Shaw

Attorney Shaw has experience that few other attorneys can match. While attending law school at the Indiana University, Maurer School of Law, he clerked with Henry Wade. Soon after law school, he became a Deputy Prosecutor, trying over 100 cases. Later, he joined the largest insurance defense firm in Northern Indiana, Spangler, Jennings & Dougherty, P.C., representing various insurance companies. He has recovered over $18,000,000 in verdicts/settlements for clients since 2012. With over 30 years of experience, he has tried over 100 trials (bench and jury) and has a state-wide reputation for fierceness in the courtroom, mixed with good humor. He has never lost a slip-and-fall jury trial or any premises liability matter.

Elizabeth A. Klesmith

Libby joined the firm’s South Bend office after graduating from Notre Dame Law School in 2014. Her practice areas include civil litigation representing clients in medical malpractice, contract disputes, contract claims, employment defense, personal injury, and real estate matters. She also assists clients with the application process for federal and state trademark registration in Indiana and Michigan. Libby is admitted to practice law in Indiana and Michigan, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the Western District of Michigan. She is active in the legal profession, currently serving as the chair-elect of the Indiana State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.

Eric W. von Deck

Eric von Deck is a litigator with a focus on commercial matters, real estate, personal injury, and professional liability. Eric also has significant experience in commercial real estate transactions. Prior to joining THK, Eric practiced in the areas of securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate governance. Eric earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School in 1999, and was the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Business Associations.

Ed Chester is a third-generation lawyer with over 35 years of experience, specializing in personal injury and wrongful death claims. He previously served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and Public Defender for Elkhart County.

Bradford R. Shively

Bradford R. Shively is a partner at Sanders Pianowski, LLP, focusing on civil litigation, labor and employment law, corporate and business advising, creditors’ rights, personal injury, insurance law, and appellate law. He is licensed in Indiana and Michigan.

Andre Gammage

Andre Gammage joined THK in 2025, practicing in areas of business law, civil litigation, and mediation. Before joining THK, Andre served as a Magistrate Judge in the St. Joseph Circuit Court, presiding at both the South Bend and Mishawaka Courthouses. In this role, he adjudicated a broad range of civil matters, including medical malpractice, contract disputes, estate litigation, family law, and personal injury cases. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he teaches Intensive Trial Advocacy. Over the course of his career, Andre has served as lead counsel or presided over more than 300 trials. He is also a certified mediator and has contributed to the advancement of the legal profession through his service on committees of both the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court.

Nicholas B. Muir

Nicholas B. Muir is a dedicated attorney with over six years of legal experience, specializing in Criminal Defense and Estates, with extensive experience in Personal Injury, Family Law, and Small Claims. He earned his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law and holds a dual major in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Trine University. Nicholas is licensed in Indiana and the Northern Federal District of Indiana, and is an active member of several bar associations. He is also the President of the Board of Directors for Pet Refuge.
