Richard E. Samdperil

Attorney Richard Samdperil has been trying cases in New Hampshire courts for over 30 years, including criminal defense, DUI defense, appellate litigation, and civil and personal injury matters. He graduated from Lake Forest College in 1990 and Northeastern University School of Law in 1994. He is an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, a contributing author to legal publications, and has served on the New Hampshire Judicial Council. Jonathan Cohen

Attorney Jonathan Cohen is an experienced trial attorney whose practice areas include criminal defense, motor vehicle offenses, family law and personal injury. Attorney Cohen worked at the law firm of Bernstein Shur, PA in Manchester where he focused on personal injury, civil litigation and employment matters. Previously he worked at the firm of Twomey and Sisti and handled criminal defense and motor vehicle related matters. He has served as an professor at Franklin Pierce University, teaching courses in civil and criminal law. Attorney Cohen also wrote “A Student Guide to NH Criminal Law” and designed a program that was a part of Orientation for all incoming students at FPU. Andrew S. Winters

With over 21 years legal experience, Andrew Winters, co-founded Cohen & Winters in 2009. As one of the key strategic partners, he has helped the firm grow considerably. After graduating from Duke University School of Law, Andrew spent more than six years honing his skills at the public defender’s office. Since entering private practice in 2006 Andrew has frequently appeared in court litigating different types of cases, particularly in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury and divorce cases. He has achieved victories before judges, juries, and the New Hampshire Supreme Court. In recent years Andrew has pivoted to become the firm’s point person for estate planning, drafts will, trusts, power of attorney, and related documents for firm clients. A native of the Washington D.C. area, Andrew has called New Hampshire home for more than twenty years. His current community involvement include seats on the Concord Zoning Board, and the New Hampshire Bar Association Finance Committee. He lives in Concord with his wife and two school-age daughters.

Joseph E. Welsh

Michelle Wojnilowicz

Michellebrings over 30 years of experience in the legal field, having worked in a variety of roles across several areas of law. She began her career in the New Hampshire court system as a Court Assistant at the Hillsborough County Superior Court, where she supported the criminal department. She later joined a mid-sized law firm in Manchester as a legal assistant, focusing primarily on personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. At Cohen & Winters, Michelle supports all areas of our practice. Her strong organizational skills and thoughtful approach make her a valuable resource to both clients and colleagues. Michelle has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to serving others. For example, she previously served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children in New Hampshire. Presently, she works part-time on the weekends assisting elderly individuals with daily tasks, helping them maintain their independence at home. A proud lifelong New Hampshire resident, Michelle lives in Hooksett with her husband and children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, visiting the beach, and traveling-especially to warm destinations.

Katharine Phinney

Attorney Katharine Phinney is an experienced attorney, focusing primarily on divorce matters. After years of working for the people of Rockingham and Strafford counties prosecuting felony level crimes, she transitioned back to the private sector to work with families and help individuals with their own legal matters. Attorney Phinney has a track record of success. She graduated summa cum laude, attaining the rank of 2nd in her law school class, and then began her career on the Seacoast at a family law firm. During her first several years of practice, she enjoyed working on complex divorce cases, including arguing a case before the New Hampshire Supreme Court on behalf of her client. Enticed by this litigation experience, Attorney Phinney became a felony level prosecutor where she handled hundreds of felony crimes and spent years in the courtroom. After winning numerous jury trials for the State of New Hampshire, Attorney Phinney chose to work on a more personal level with individuals and families, and joined the team at Russman Law. In addition to working hard for her clients, Attorney Phinney enjoys serving the citizens of New Hampshire in various capacities as a past member on the New Hampshire Adult Parole Board, past President of the Rockingham Bar Association after serving years as a Board Member and has enjoyed teaching a law course at the Granite State College. Attorney Phinney resides in the Seacoast area, with her husband and children where she is testing her green thumb in gardening and attempting to hike all of the 48 4,000 foot summits in the Granite State.
