Steven A. Elia established Elia Law Firm in 2001. Since then, he has focused on plaintiff’s personal injury, civil litigation and business transactional matters. Mr. Elia has handled over 1,000 personal injury cases, obtaining excellent results. He has extensive litigation experience having appeared at more than 1,000 civil hearings including jury and bench trials, over 500 depositions, and hundreds of mediations. Some of his cases have made national and local headlines. He has prosecuted and defended many substantial civil matters in both state and federal courts. In some instances, his cases have included litigating various complex cases in simultaneous state and federal proceedings.

Since 2009 Ms. Griffin has assisted our office in handling complex civil litigation cases in state and federal court including, but not limited to personal injury and business disputes. She has extensive experience appearing at hearings, depositions and trials. In addition to her civil practice, Ms. Griffin also handles administrative and criminal cases. Prior to practicing law, Maura Griffin was a full time private investigator for many years assisting other attorneys with their cases. As an attorney, she now applies these investigative skills to our firm’s cases.

Clay R. Sides

Clay R. Sides has been practicing law for over 34 years. He was born and raised in Southern California, attended UCLA, and received his law degree from the University of San Diego Law School. He opened his private practice in 1987, focusing on personal injury representation and has advocated in over 100 jury trials.

Holly Attiq Semaan joined ELIA LAW FIRM, APC in February of 2007 as a receptionist. Ultimately, Mrs. Semaan was hired as an associate attorney at Cooley, LLP, a prestigious international law firm. In 2013, she rejoined our team but this time, as an attorney. She has extensive experience with personal injury negotiations and various business transactional matters. In 2019, she became a shareholder at the Elia Law Firm, APC. Known for her attention to detail, Mrs. Semaan leaves no stone unturned when it comes to her cases. She is proud to be a part of a hard working and dedicated team of attorneys and staff who go above and beyond to give clients the representation that they deserve.

Robert W. Jackson

Robert W. Jackson is a trial lawyer with 28 years of experience, representing thousands of individuals, families, and small businesses in their fight for justice. He has tried over 80 jury trials and mediated/arbitrated hundreds more cases. Robert began his legal career with a large law firm in Orange County before starting his own practice in San Diego, specializing in severe personal injury and traumatic brain injury cases. He is a graduate and former instructor at Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer College.

Federico Lathrop

Federico Lathrop specializes in litigating catastrophic personal injury, traumatic brain injury, wrongful death, wildfire, and mass tort litigation cases. He has focused on bringing justice to people harmed by the misdeeds of others, advocating on behalf of fire victims in several wildfire cases against utility companies and litigating complex personal injury cases against insurance companies.
